Catherine Gaillard is an architect who lent her design talent as artistic director to many high end fashion brands. In 2014 she decided to challenge herself to a new career as a handbag designer. She moved to a large riad in the Fez Medina (Morocco) where leather has been worked for close to a thousand years.
Catherine’s pieces are entirely made by hand by local artisans whose families have been keeping the trade and traditions alive from one generation to the next. Her aesthetic is one of clean geometric lines where detail is king – a quilted pattern here, an oblong link there – colors and materials contrast to surprise and delight.
